Farmers Cooperative Society

FCS has proactively implemented some new procedures that are intended to minimize risk to our employees and our customers. It is important for us to maintain a safe workspace for our employees as well as being able to continue to serve our customers. Steps we have taken include the following:

  • We have cancelled company and external meetings and events at this time.
  • We are asking all truck drivers to stay in their trucks when loading, unloading and weighing in and out of our facilities.
  • We have increased cleaning and sanitation supplies and are encouraging employees to take time to clean and wash their hands regularly.
  • We are restricting employee’s movements between our locations

As your local cooperative we understand that business must go on; however, we are trying to limit interaction so that we can ensure continued support to all of our customers. Therefore, we ask that you conduct as much business as possible over the phone or by email for the next several weeks.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you updated as things change. Stay safe, we will get through this working together.

Alcester-Hudson Schools

Alcester-Hudson Schools will be closed until May 1, 2020.

E-learning Plan for Grades 9-12

Beginning the week of March 23, Alcester-Hudson High School students will begin an e-learning educational format.  If students have not yet come to the school to pick up their computers and all books from their lockers, they are asked to do so by noon today or by noon Friday.  Students should check their school e-mail and on-line learning platforms on a regular basis.  Also, on Monday students may access teacher lesson plans on our school website under the staff directory and individual teacher lesson plan pages.

We sincerely hope to provide your children the best education possible through this uncharted territory. We know we will run into issues, but hopefully we will be able to resolve them in a timely fashion.  If you have concerns or suggestions, please e-mail Mrs. Haisch or individual teachers.  We look forward to having everyone back in school very soon.

Alcester-Hudson Elementary K-6

Students in grades K-6 will receive packets to work on.  Currently our focus is on maintaining our current level.  Most of the work should be things that your child has seen before.  We are also going to focus primarily on math and reading.  Each packet should have information from the teacher concerning how to contact them and other instructions.

The packets will be available for pick up on Monday at 11:00.  A sack lunch will also be available at that time.  Sack lunches will be available through 12:00 and we ask that you pick up your packet by 3:00.  We are going to run buses as well.  They will run their normal morning routes and will bring a packet of work along with a sack lunch to your house.

We will repeat this process on Wednesday and Friday.  We ask that you return work that has been completed as you pick up your new packets of work.

This is the plan for the next week and if this shutdown continues, we may need to make changes to the plan.

If you do nothing else, please take time to read to your child or listen to them read to you.  We are going through unprecedented times.  As long as we continue to communicate with each other and work toward a common goal, we will be successful.  If you have and questions please contact me by phone at 605-659-6515 or email at tim.rhead@k12.sd.us or post a question to the school’s Facebook page.

Alcester-Hudson Junior High

Alcester-Hudson Junior High students will educate in similar fashion to our elementary for next week.  JH students should come to the high school and pick up their homework packets during the same time frame as the elementary.  Again, regular morning bus routes will deliver homework packets to students.

  • Alcester Golf Club membership meeting on March 24 has been canceled.  Memberships paid in full by May 15 will be discounted.
