REGULAR MEETING OF THE ALCESTER CITY COUNCIL
January 2, 2007

The Alcester city council held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in the council room.
Mayor Bill Koenig opened the meeting at 7:00 pm with the following council members present, Curt Anderson, Pete Larsen, Brian Berg, Jim Quick, Kitsy Triebwasser and Tom Kribell. Also present were Mike Kezar and Charles Haugland.
The following warrants were approved on a motion by Larsen and seconded by Quick. All voted aye. South Dakota Municipal Comp Fund, insurance, $6,602.00, SECOG, dues, $1,153.00, South Dakota Municipal League, due, $701.81, South Dakota Gov’t. Finance Officers, dues, $40.00, South Dakota Municipal Attorney’s, dues, $20.00, South Dakota Police Chief’s, $96.23, Crimestar, support fee, $250.00, Municipal Street Maint, dues, $35.00, Gubbrud, Haugland & Gillespie, pro fees, $522.50, Dept, of DENR, fees, $850.00, Dept. of DENR, certification renewals, $36.00, South Lincoln Rural Water, water purchase, $3,522.05, Rural Development, 1987 Bond, $551.00, Rural Development, 2002 Bond, $2,060.91, L.P. Gill Landfill, landfill use, $1,388.90, Pepsi-America’s, pop, $173.28.
A motion by Quick and seconded by Triebwasser to purchase a high-low warning system for the water tower for $23,426.00. All voted aye.
A motion by Larsen and seconded to approve the retainer agreement with Gubbrud, Haugland & Gillespie law firm for 2007. All voted aye.
Discussion was held on repairs being needed for the Alcester community Building, with the council giving approval for the smaller items and will get quotes for such items as a new furnace for the downstairs meeting room, a hot water heater, new lights in the gym and look at purchasing new round tables and stackable chairs.
A motion to adjourn was made at 8:00 pm by Triebwasser and seconded by Larsen. All voted aye.

Nominating petitions may be filed in the office of the city finance officer located in the Alcester Community Building between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, central time, Monday through Friday not earlier than the 26th day of January, 2007 and not later than the 23rd day of February, 2007 at 5:00 PM
