The 9 O’clock Coffee Group meets at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday at Arlene’s Sunnyside Café.
A-1 4-H Club
The A-1 4-H Club was formed to  engage youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth development.   Its name is a reference to the occurrence of the initial letter H four times in the organization’s original motto “head, heart, hands, and health”.   Members participate in a variety of projects and the Union County Fair.

American Legion
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.

American Legion Auxiliary
The Alcester American Legion Auxiliary is dedicated to serving, helping, and meeting the needs of our nation’s veterans, military, and their families—both here and abroad.  It provides a free will donation Memorial Day meal at the school after the services in Alcester, serves a turkey dinner on Veterans Day at the City Auditorium, gives haircuts to Veterans at Alcester Care & Rehab for Valentine’s Day, donates items for the VA Christmas party in Sioux Falls and helps the American Legion in its endeavors.

Lincoln-Union 4H Shooting Sports
We train 4H members from ages 8-18 in Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Archery, BB Gun, Shotgun, Small-bore Pistol, and Small-bore Rifle. All disciplines except Shotgun are in the winter season from January – April, with the state tournament being in Ft Pierre at the end of April. Air Pistol, Air Rifle, Archery, and BB Gun Practices are Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings at the Alcester City Auditorium. Small-bore practices are scheduled as weather permits at the Beresford Gun Club.

Shotgun season starts at the end of June, with the state tournament in Mitchell the second weekend in September. Practices are Wednesday evenings at the Beresford Gun Club. Contact the Lincoln County, SD State Extension office in Canton for Lincoln County 4H Members or the Union County office in Elk Point for Union County 4H members. Annual Dues are $25 per member.

Tae Kwon Do
Practices are held Mondays and Wednesdays at the City Auditorium for ages 6-11 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and for 12 and older from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Cost is $30 per month for the first person in your family and $15 per month for each additional person.
